Indonesian police threaten the ULMWP secretariat in Fak Fak, West Papua. Following the ULM’s recent recognition by the Melanesian Spearhead Group the Indonesian government has reacted by threatening members of the ULM.
Indonesian police have accused, Mr. Apnel Hegemur (Responsible ULMWP Regional Secretariat of the consortium), Br. Mr. Roy Marthen Murry (Secretary ULMWP Secretariat) and Daniel Hegemur (Spokesman ULMWP Secretariat. Fakfak). The 3 are accused of violating Article 510 of the Indonesian Criminal Code on public order offenses / permit crowds.
The Indonesian Police say they will send a letter to the three activists on the morning before the trial was held in the District Court of the consortium.
However, the letter promised did not come.
Earlier, on Friday (03 / 07-2015), the combined forces of the Indonesian Police, TNI District Military Command 1706 / PVT the consortium, and the Military Police, raided and searched the homes of citizens who serve ULMWP Secretariat. Residents gathered that morning for prayer and Indigenous procession for the successful representation of West Papua liberation movement, called ULMWP, was accepted as a member of the Observer in the forum Pacific countries, Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG).
A total of 40 people were arrested and taken to the Police Headquarters. After inspected, dozens of residents have returned home. Police then set three activists as public order suspects on charges of unauthorized activities.

The ULM is the legitimate representation of the West Papuan people. The Indonesian government has no right to intimidate and arrest members of the ULM.
