With the fate of West Papua’s membership to the Melanesian Spearhead Group to be decided next week, civil society organisations are calling for Government’s backing.
“Fiji itself we are very patriotic at the moment. We are changing our flag and we are talking about…the prime Minister is talking about colonial powers and so forth and we need to leave those things behind. So why are we not supporting West Papua for the very same things we are talking about that we want for Fiji?” asked Shamima Ali – Director, FWCC
